Fish Finder 400C with Dual Beam Transducer

Added to MyBoatsGear on 8/3/2008

Fish Finder 400C with Dual Beam TransducerOur Review
The increase in marine sonar technology for fishfinders has not only improved fishermans chances of catching fish, but it has had a vast impact on bottom contour reading, for all boaters, sail and power. By using sonar rather than a depth sounder you can get bottom readings and get a visual of the bottom, not just a digital number. The fishfinder 400C is the largest in Garmins lineup.

The stand alone 400C fishfinder has dual transducers for fresh and salt water and the 4 inch Ultra-bright, full-color QVGA display has 320 x 240 pixels of resolution. This unit lets you get out and fish in a single display and transducer.

Garmin's Description
The versatile Fishfinder 400C has a super bright, high resolution 4-inch display and is great for finding fish in both freshwater and saltwater.

Use in Freshwater and Saltwater The 400C is available with a choice of dual beam or dual frequency transducers, so it is readily adaptable for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The 400 watt (RMS) dual beam version offers a wide fish-finding cone and reaches depths of 900 feet. With the 500 watt (RMS) dual frequency transducer, you can reach a depth of 1,500 feet.

Connect with CANet® Fishfinder 400C features a crisp, ultra-bright 4” QVGA color display, plus UltraScroll™ for screen updates at live-action speeds. It is also CANet-compatible, so you can share sonar information with plotters located elsewhere in your boat.
