Hide A Davit SystemAdded to MyBoatsGear on 11/24/2009
One of the benefits of the Hide A Davit system is that you do not need to make any modifications to the inflatable. The dinghy slides around on the lifting arms, so it will take a little experience to handle it. The Hide A Davit system leaves the dinghy overhanging the swim platform, so you will need to be aware of that. It would be easy to get the dinghy damaged backing into a slip, so be aware of this. Additional Resources LaConner Maritime Service's Description Technical Information: The Hide-a-Davit system is built of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and marine aluminum. Two hydraulic cylinders give the standard system 650 pounds of lift. All this is installed under the swim step, out of sight, leaving the swim step clear and unobstructed. There is no unsightly hardware showing. The arms are formed of aluminum, powder coated white, and fitted with rubber pads to protect your tender. For installation the boat must be hauled out. There are hydraulic lines that go below the swim step, but above the water line. There are also structural braces that bolt to the transom. The kit comes complete with all hardware, arms, hydraulic system, “up and down” switch and easy to follow installation instructions.
