Sailing Games BookOur Review
Designed to make sailing practice a bit more fun, this collection of sailing exercises and drills were compiled by Andrew Clouston National Program Manager at Yachting New Zealand. The exercises include tag with a sponge, rudderless sailing, and treasure hunts which will surely make kids find some fun in sailing.

few years ago I was referring to a ring binder of over 60 games at Yachting New Zealand and it dawned on me that this resource was wasted by just sitting on the shelf. It had great potential as a published resource,” says Andrew to the Sport & Recreation New Zealand web site. Andrew continues, “After identifying the games that I had already used as a coach, and trying out others that looked like they would work, I began putting together a book of games for sailing coaches in New Zealand.”

Yachting NZ's Description
Sailing Games Book

Whether training to win or just sailing with your friends, games are a great way to add variety to your sessions.

This book is a collection of forty games, ten for on shore and thirty for on the water. Each game has a description, rules, variations on how it can be played, the equipment required and tips for smooth running and the aim of the game, useful if you’re looking to practise a particular skill.

These games can be played in all types of boats from dinghies to windsurfers, catamarans to keelboats, and many of the games can be played with as few as two boats.
